Girls State has a great history in Tennessee. The first VGS was held at Bethany Hills near Nashville in 1947. Girls State moved to MTSU in 1955, where it is presently held. A charter of incorporation was granted Volunteer Girls State, Inc., June 5, 1952, and renewed in 1994. The staff and counselors all are past VGS delegates. | |||||||||||||||||
